Geological Definition: Metamorphosed graywacke quarry produced stone; fine to medium grained; typical dark green in color. Variable bedding in thickness up to 12 feet; dense. Lithic and quartzitic varieties common. Local infilling and alterations along fractures by quartz, epidote and clorite.
Characteristics: Extremely hard rock with interlocking grains. Angular particle shape aids superior compaction (density) for court integrity. Gray-green in color, non-staining.
